Headed to Pebble Beach to Skimboard!

Tillman has been dreaming about Pebble Beach
So check this out. Dad took us on a road trip up to Carmel, California for some surf n sun this weekend. We're going to Pebble Beach, where I hope to wow the crowds with my skim boarding. I overheard dad talking about this trip yesterday, and when I saw him load my skimboard into the car I was so stoked. I ran around in circles, barked and barked, begging him to go surf NOW. I went to sleep last night dreaming about the surf and the free feeling of riding the waves on my skimboard. It is a total trip for me, especially when I know fans are watching from the shore. Hopefully dad takes a photo or two so I can post here tomorrow for you.

Wanna guess how many waves I'll ride today?

My Pal Norman the Scooter Dog

Norman with his mom Karen
My pal Norman the Scooter Dog is one heck of a guy. Norman is a dog who loves to perform for an audience. He has already appeared on Cartoon Network, The Late Show with David Letterman, Inside Edition, Good Morning America, and on my TV show "Who Let the Dogs Out?".

Norman was born on July 14th, 2009, is tawny in color, measures 26" at the withers and weighs 70 lbs. Norman is training to compete in Agility, Herding and Obedience competitions. He received his Companion Dog Title in Obedience when he was only 15 months old. In addition, he helps promote rescue and helps educate against puppy mills!

Like me, he is naturally curious. He loves playing with his family and wants to do everything with his kids. When he saw them riding scooters, he wanted to try and found that this was something he also could do.

What I love about Norman is that he loves to train and learn new tricks.
We've had more fun together barking away, especially when we see a pretty girl pass by. Check out Norman's Facebook page and "like" him, he is looking for new friends!

Living Life to the Fullest

People say I have a BIG personality. All I know is I like to live life to the fullest and smile a lot. Sometimes it includes tackling big things, like this huge stuffed plush Tillman riding a skateboard. As soon as I saw this I had to jump on it and play. Just like my own skateboard,I chewed on the "skateboard" part of this and got it good and slimy with drool. I have to admit, hugging a giant Tillman was a bit strange, but now I know what you humans think when you guys hug me. Someone "caught" me and took this photo, but I wasn't embarrassed at all. It was great to just have fun and be silly. Sometimes you just have to live life to the fullest and smile.

Thanks & Farewell, Blog Paws!

Tillman says "Thanks" to BlogPaws
Well it was quite a run, for me and the gang. We had a truly amazing time at Blog Paws in Salt Lake City. I especially enjoyed meeting so many new and existing blogger friends in person. I even had a chance to drool on a few people too! I want to say a big THANKS to every single one of the organizers of Blog Paws who made us all feel welcome and special too. I should also thank my sponsor, Natural Balance Pet Foods for getting me and the whole crew here. Check out this photo of Norman the Scooter Dog below:
Norman the Scooter Dog waves farewell to BlogPaws!
My good buddy Norman the Scooter Dog also wanted to say thanks and farewell also. He is even waving in this photo. Pretty cool huh? Yeah, well he has longer arms than I do, so its easier for him to wave! BOL!!

Let's all keep in touch on the blogosphere. There are lots of ways to follow me: here on my blog, on my Facebook page, on Twitter, on my Pinterest boards, or on our TV show website, www.WhoLetTheDogsOut.tv

So stay tuned for more updates all summer long. AND I'll need you help to honor Service Dogs later this year. More on that later. For now, I'm taking the next skateboard outta here. (OK, well actually its the RV, but that just sounded better to me).

Woof Woof,
Tillman

Tillman's Top Ten Tips for Skateboarding

Tillman with Spencer, a 7 year old fan
Meet Spencer, a 7 year old fan I met BlogPaws yesterday. Not long ago, the folks at Natural Balance Pet Foods mailed one of my super cool, custom skateboards to Spencer. So yesterday I sat down with him to give a few tips on skateboarding.

First thing I told him? Learn how to bark a lot and chew on the board, I think it helps me go faster. Bwwaahhhaaaaa.

Tillman's Top 10 Tips for Skateboarding
1. Bark 7 times before you get on the board
2. Always chew on the board like crazy before you hop on
3. Wiggle your butt to keep your balance
4. Fold your ears back, it improves the aerodynamics
5. Have your personal assistant scratch your neck before you start the run
6. Try to fart while on the board, it helps propel you
7. Smile at the chicks when you zoom past
8. A few drops of drool on the wheels are good luck
9. Refuel with a few Tillman's Treats after a long run
10. Don't Stop Til You Get Enough!

Hope those tips help.

Blog Paws Day Two Was PAWSOME!

Norman the Scooter Dog kisses the TV anchorman!
Day Two at Blog Paws was nothing short of PAWSOME! We started the day off super early at the studios of KSL TV 5 in Salt Lake City, where Norman the Scooter Dog and I had fun with the morning crew. Norman sort of co-anchored one of the sessions, and profusely thanked his human co-host with doggie kisses. I think this photo just about explains it, don't you think? It was a fun moment to watch. I lowered my head in embarrassment for the poor anchorman, but he took it in stride!
Then it was back to the Sheraton hotel to join the Blog Paws group for breakfast and the opening Keynote address by Betsy Saul, Co-Founder of Petfinder.com, a virtual home of more than 345,000 adoptable pets from nearly 14,000 adoption groups nationwide. Her keynote address was very interesting and inspiring too. Well at least my dad seemed to like it. I was busy chewing on a rope toy while Betsy spoke, but she didn't seem to mind. I kept a low profile but I was able to sneak a piece of bacon that fell on the floor from someone. SCORE! I knew I liked the keynote presentation for some reason, I think it was the bacon.
Just before the keynote ended I strolled back to the Natural Balance Pet Food booth for meet and greet photos and pawtagraphs.
I have to admit, I got a little distracted by a massive blue skateboard that I found....
Tillman chews on a massive skateboard in the booth
Rose loves her tennis ball!
While I was busy taking photos with all my new pals at Blog Paws, my lil sister Rose was hanging out playing with a tennis ball. She kept squeaking it and throwing at anyone who she could get to play with her.

Rose perched herself on the bench and was the center of attention for awhile. I think it was her pink tutu that attracted all the attention, don't you? Or is it her cute face? Or that tongue? At any rate she helped entertain people in line while they waited to meet me.

Being a celebrity bulldog, I'm constantly being asked for photos. I don't mind at all, in fact I LOVE IT!  My dad is very protective of me, as well as my sister Rose and brother Sully. He makes sure we don't get too tired or thirsty, etc. Sometimes it means we have to take a break to relax and just play for awhile. Luckily I was able to meet most of the people who waited to see me.
The greatest dad in the world!

Ron really is a cool dude. He's more than my dad, he is my best friend. When we're at home, he takes me to the beach for long walks, to hunt for crabs on the beach, or to surf too.

I could be wrong but I think he actually understands my barks. I bark when I want my skateboard, I bark differently when I want to surf, and of course I have a special bark when I want belly rubs.
Norman the Scooter Dog with his Trading Card
The other cool thing going on today at Blog Paws was that both Norman and I were giving out our collectable trading cards at the Natural Balance booth. If you have not seen them yet, they are sort of like baseball cards, only even more cool. They have a short bio, stats, photos and a QR code to scan with your smart phone, which takes you to a website with links to all our other info. We both have blogs, Facebook pages, Twitter accounts and even more cool stuff.

My card even has a link to my very cool Pinterest Account. Did you know I even have a special board for Blog Paws? I hope you can follow my Pinterest board for more updates and photos. If you didn't get one of our Trading Cards yet, here is what they look like. Come to the Natural Balance booth at Blog Paws to get yours, while they last!

Starting the Day on TV in Salt Lake City

Tillman skates at sunrise in Salt Lake City on KSL 5 TV
Wow its Friday already!  Fun week so far...and more going on today..already. Early this morning Norman and I were on KSL 5 TV in Salt Lake City. I was able to skate while the sun was rising, it was an inspirational moment, I must say. Even Norman barked for me while I did my stuff.

Camera guy for Who Let the Dogs Out filming us!
As you can see from this photo, the camera crew from my TV show Who Let the Dogs Out were filming us while we were on air for the TV station. Sort of a "behind the scenes" moment for the new season! Thanks again to Natural Balance Pet Foods for sponsoring my show for a second season!
Norman the Scooter Dog scoots live on air
Norman was a huge hit for the TV reporter. The KSL 5 TV camera crew seemed to get a real kick out of us all. This is the kind of stuff we love doing.
Here is Norman with Tonya Papanikolas, anchor at KSL 5 TV in Salt Lake City. She sure is pretty, isn't she? You can say hi to her on Twitter @TonyaKSL

Now we'll have some breakfast, rest a bit and then head on over to the Blog Paws conference for meet and greets later this morning! See you soon!

An Incredible First Day at Blog Paws

Wow what a day Thursday turned out to be for me and the gang. A few years ago, when I first formed the Natural Balance Canine Sports Team, little did I know it would lead to such cool events like Blog Paws. Thanks to Dick Van Patten and Joey Herrick, my sponsors at Natural Balance Pet Foods brought me and the team to Blog Paws to help open the conference with a fun show for everyone.  In addition to me, we have my sister Rose, brother Sully,  and Norman the Scooter Dog too. My Personal Assistant Eric Presnall is here, along with my Dad Ron Davis, and Norman's mom Karen Cobb. Many of you know all these names because we were all on my TV show Who Let the Dogs Out earlier this year. We're in Salt Lake City for Blog Paws but ALSO to film for new episodes of Who Let the Dogs Out, season two (stay tuned for more on that!).
Eric watches as Rose and Sully pop balloons

Our little show to kick off Blog Paws started with a few words by Joey Herrick, President of Natural Balance Pet Foods. As one of the owners, Joey wanted to personally come to Blog Paws to meet everyone and say thanks for being so friendly to us all. First up were Rose and Sully, who ran out of the RV and made a bee-line for the x-pen  which was filled with balloons. They tore into the pen and popped every balloon as fast as they could. They LOVE to pop balloons, and go crazy until they pop off of them. I can't be certain, but I think Rose usually goes for the pink and purple balloons first! But then again she's a girl so I suppose she gets the first pick.

Everyone seemed to love seeing Rose and Sully do their stuff. I was watching from inside my RV enjoying the view of all the Blog Paws people snapping photos and smiling. It was a fun way to start the show.
Norman the Scooter Dog at Blog Paws
Next up was Norman the Scooter Dog and his mom Karen. Norman is a real crowd-pleaser, and quite an athlete too. He LOVES to do tricks for people, and what's awesome is that Norman really enjoys learning NEW tricks too. Anyway, Karen brought out Norman's scooter and right away he jumped on like a person, with one paw on the board and one paw on the ground, kicking off....while both his front paws were on the handle bar of the scooter. He was so pleased with himself as he scooted along to the cheers of the crowd.

If you look closely in this photo, you can even see Sully watching from the window of my RV. He loves to see the crowds being entertained, and he loves Norman too!

Tillman shreds the pavement skating at Blog Paws
Finally, it was my turn so Joey called me out.  My dad Ron opened the door to the RV...he was holding my skateboard....I took one look and I got so excited, I knew it was time to skate. I go nuts whenever I see my skateboard and bark until dad lets me have a run on it. At first, I skated off in another area because I was so pumped, but dad called me back and I went toward the crowd to do my stuff.

I shredded the pavement, making several laps back and forth, which I think made the crowd very happy. It's easy for me, I'm just doing what I love to do.
Tillman smiles for the crowd at Blog Paws
It was a real honor to kick off the Blog Paws conference, and I'm so happy that I was able to get to Salt Lake City for it. Friday I have another TV appearance on a morning news show, but then I'll be back at Blog Paws during the day to do meet and greets with anyone who wants to take a picture with me. Dad makes sure I get plenty of breaks and rest, so if I'm away from the Natural Balance booth when you stop by check back again!

For those of you who are at Blog Paws, I sure hope you enjoyed the show. If you did, tell your friends and followers too. Also, don't forget to follow my special Blog Paws boards on Pinterest too!

See you tomorrow!

On TV in Salt Lake City

Being interviewed for ABC TV Good Things Utah show
Our morning of TV appearances has been going well! After a great run on KSTU Fox 13's Good Day Utah show, we went over to KTVX ABC's Good Things Utah show where Norman the Scooter Dog and I were interviewed and had a chance to show off our stuff for the cameras and people at home. We made sure to say we were here for Blog Paws too! The grassy area was nice and cool on our paws, and I had some time to chill out with my dad, Steve our driver and Eric Presnall, my personal assistant too. He has been great keeping me hydrated with plenty of bottled water and snacks too!

Tillman skates on ABC's Good Things Utah show
But I couldn't take it anymore..I saw my skateboard and kept barking and barking and barking to get my dad's attention. I WANTED TO SKATE. Why wouldn't he listen to me? FINALLY I snagged the board and tried to drag it over to the nice smooth pavement at the ABC TV studios! Dad and Eric made their way to set me up in the parking lot. And away I went. Ahhh it feels so great to be on my board, with the breeze in my face.  Its such a pawsome feeling to be skating. Alright I admit it, I am a ham and love to show off too. Especially when people cheer me on.
The gang found a nice shady spot to chill out
We found a shady spot at the ABC station and had some time to rest and chill out for awhile. I was basking in the afterglow of another great skate. What a way to start the morning. I can't wait to do it again tonight at the kick off opening ceremonies for Blog Paws! I really should thank my friends at Natural Balance Pet Foods for taking such great care of me, and hooking me up with lots of delicious food too. I'm in peak physical condition, and I owe some of that to the food I eat!
My personal assistant, Eric Presnall gives me the shaka sign for a job well done!

And We're Off!

I dragged my butt out of bed extra early this morning for TV interviews on several morning programs here in Salt Lake City. First, dad took me for a morning walk, I had a bowl of breakfast, and we all piled onto my RV for the short drive over to Fox 13's Good Day Utah Show.
Here we are in the parking lot at the Fox 13 studios in Salt Lake City. Norman the Scooter Dog had a practice run on his scooter with his mom Karen. Meanwhile dad plays it cool with my personal assistant, Eric Presnall.  I was checking out the cute TV reporter...I winked at her.

Getting Ready for Blog Paws!

Well, we're one day closer to Blog Paws! Our journey to Salt Lake City is underway. The gang worked hard to get all my stuff loaded onto the RV, and we're stocked up on plenty of my Tillman's Treats as "emergency snacks", plenty of bottled water, and a few back up skateboards with super-fast wheels for me to strut my stuff for my pals at Blog Paws tomorrow. I did some exercises and got a good work-out in before my Blog Paws appearance. I like to dazzle the crowds, so I've gotten plenty of practice in already this week.

Norman the Scooter Dog taking a Bath
Even my pal Norman the Scooter Dog is coming to Blog Paws, to join me in the opening kick off ceremonies. Norman got all spruced up with a bath yesterday. Check out this picture of Norman in the tub. I call this 'Scrub A Dub Dub in the Tub'. Bwwahhhaaahaaa.

See y'all in Salt Lake City. I'll be the one with the awesome skateboard....

I'm a Creature of Habit

Everybody is always so busy. Running here and there, doing this and that. As for me, I totally understand, as I have a full schedule too. For instance, here is my typical daily routine:

My Daily Routine*
Morning stretches
Search the house for monsters
Breakfast (Natural Balance Synergy)
Morning walk
Wrestle with Dad
Window patrol
Nap
Chase Rose
Chase Sully
Hunting for crabs on the beach
Nap
Ride my skateboard for exercise
Run around the yard
Afternoon refreshments (a few slices of Natural Balance dog food rolls)
Chase Rose
Chase Sully
Tug of War (see photo above)
Nap
Read fan mail
Pawtagraph photos for fans
Dinner (Natural Balance Synergy)
Patrol the beach boardwalk
Patrol the neighborhood with dad
Wrestle with dad
Nap
Watch TV
Watch my human brother play video games
Scam a snack from dad (Usually my Tillman's Treats dog treats)
Patrol the house for monsters
Sleep

*On weekends, we usually go surfing or skimboarding too. I love it when the surf is just right, the sun is shining and the beach is loaded with chicks.

Being a creature of habit is comforting to a bulldog like me. I get plenty of exercise, eat right and am lucky enough to have a dad who loves me and spends lots of time with me. What more could a dog want?

Happy Father's Day

In honor of Father's Day here in the United States, I thought I'd share this photo of me, with one of America's favorite TV dad's from the 1970's, Dick Van Patten. My own dad Ron tells me he used to like to watch Eight is Enough on TV, and see Dick Van Patten as the father to all those kids. For a generation of kids Mr VP was the quintessential dad, adding to a list of TV dads who shaped views of fatherhood. I'm lucky enough to know Dick Van Patten today, and I can tell you he is a great guy! As a co-founder of Natural Balance (my sponsor) he is like the father of the company.  For me, its like having two dads, my own dad Ron, and a famous TV dad too!

So whether you are a dad, of if you have a dad, or even if you can BE a dad to someone, I want to say: Happy Father's Day!

PS- Don't forget: If you are on Pinterest, look for this photo on my boards. Follow me and re-pin for a chance to win a pawtagraphed photo of me!

Helping Promote Pet Adoptions

One of the things I'm most proud about from my celebrity status is the ability to help raise awareness for many pet-related causes. Pet rescue and adoption is an important to me, as I get to see many pets who just need a home and someone to love. Did you know there there are millions of dogs and cats across the country right now who desperately need a chance for life? I've met some incredible dogs and cats who were rescued and went on to be excellent pets, and even learn cool tricks too. I like to help spread the word about rescue and adoption events. I use my Twitter and Facebook accounts, this blog, and personal appearances too, when possible.

In fact, today I'm making an appearance at a huge adoption event in Long Beach, CA with my pals from Natural Balance Pet Foods. It's the Mark and Brian radio show guys hosting an adoption day for the SPCLA in Long Beach.

If you are in the greater Los Angeles/Long Beach area, you can meet me today at the Mark & Brian Pet Adoption Day at SPCA LA as we help promote lots of adoptions.

When: Today, June 16 10am-4pm
Where: SPCA LA P.D. Pitchford Companion Animal Village and Education Center at 7700 East Spring Street in Long Beach, California (in El Dorado Park)

for more info: http://spcala.com/

AND...If you send me your photos of pets you adopt this month, I'll include them in a special new photo board on my Pinterest account.

The Best Dad Ever...

Even for a world-famous bulldog like me, what matters most to me is my family. I'm lucky to have the best dad in the world. Ron is the ultimate pal...he likes everything I do. (or maybe its that I like everything he does, I'm not sure). We hang out as a family, have lots of play time, plenty of exercise, and lots of belly rubs. But do you know what I love most about my dad? He knows exactly the right spot to scratch my butt. Oh yeah, right there! That's the spot. Sure, sometimes I compete with my sister Rose, and  brother Sully for dad's attention, but no matter what he always comes through for us. This Father's Day I plan to let dad have a slice of my Turkey dog food rolls, as a treat. I might even surprise him with a wet, slobbery kiss when he wakes up on Sunday. I just hope he lets me sneak a slice of bacon later!

Let's Go Surfin Now!

Image courtesy of Robert Ochoa of Pawmazing Photography
Oh boy, it's that time of year when the sun feels great, the water is starting to warm up, and the beaches are full of chicks who all want to pet me and tell me I'm cute. For me it also means I get time to ride the waves. I tend to draw a crowd when people see me along the beach. Dad carries my surf board and I wink at the pretty girls. Once we say all our hellos, we suit up and head into the water. We spend some time waiting for the right wave....but when it comes and I catch it in time, it is soooo sweet. Other than being on my skateboard, this my next favorite way to kill an afternoon. Life is good.

Find a New Friend at Your Local Shelter

I might be 'barking to the choir' by writing this, but I felt it was time for a fresh post advocating adoption and rescue. There are lots of really great cats and dogs at shelters and non-profit rescue groups all across the country that are waiting for YOU. Pets in your very own community who need a home, who just want someone to love unconditionally and cuddle up to at night. Someone to give you kisses of gratitude in the morning and when you come home from work in the evening. Do some research on the internet so you understand what is involved in rescue and adoption. Be sure you know what the needs of a particular breed can be before you adopt. But please,  do consider doing something self-less today, help an animal in need. I saw this clip art on a website somewhere and "borrowed" it for this post. Hey I'm a dog, what do I know. I just wanted to help spread the word to my fans that if everyone went out and adopted a pet this month, the country would be a better place. If for some reason you just cannot adopt a pet right now, consider donating your time or money to your LOCAL shelter.

AND...If you send me your photos of pets you adopt this month, I'll include them in a special new photo board on my Pinterest account.

Luckily, Rose Doesn't Wear Shoes...

Rose's closet full of dresses
As the date for the 2012 Blog Paws event approaches, we're getting reading for our trip to Salt Lake City, Utah. In between sleeping, skateboarding, surfing and snacking, apparently there are important decisions to be made for the trip. For example, my little sister Rose is having a tough time choosing which dresses to pack for the trip. Rose is known for her skills on a  surfboard and snowboard and for popping pink balloons too. She is also something of a fashion plate along bulldogs. Her pink tutus and other dresses are the envy of models everywhere. But really now, how hard is it for Rose to just pick a dress and get on with it? She stands in her closet, panting and looking at all the dresses and growls to me: " I don't have a thing to wear". Luckily, Rose doesn't wear shoes. I can only imagine how much that would complicate the packing decisions. In the meantime I'm going to go for a run on the beach with dad.

Dads, Dogs & Baseball

The past few months I've been busy attending Bark in Park events at baseball games around the country. I even threw out the ceremonial first pitch at a few Major League Baseball games too, like the day I was at the LA Dodgers in this photo here. Baseball is about as American as it gets. Since Father's Day in the US is approaching (June 17th) I got to thinking about Dads. My dad Ron is the best dad a dog could bark for. He is generous with his time, generous with the snacks, and a patient trainer too. I love my dad. I also have the benefit of another dad figure in my life...Dick Van Patten. As the co-founder of my sponsor company Natural Balance Pet Foods, Dick Van Patten is someone I get to see often. He is a great guy and loves animals too. Lots of people know him as the dad on the 70's and 80's TV show Eight is Enough on ABC. My fans always tell me he was the type of dad everyone wanted as their own dad. I'm lucky enough to have two dads, Ron Davis and Dick Van Patten. You know what's even better? Both my dads love baseball too. So I totally lucked out that Dads, Dogs and Baseball make such a great combination. Dick attended the Dodger game a few weeks ago to cheer me on as I threw out the pitch. He even scratched my butt after and made me smile. Sometimes I think I'm the luckiest dog in the world.

Today is my Birthday!

Woo Hoo! Today is my birthday! Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday dear me, happy birthday to me!  Now that I got that out of my system, I feel better. I received some fan mail this past week asking what I've been up to lately. Well the answer is...LOTS! I've had fun at several Bark in the Park appearances, where I threw out the ceremonial first pitch in the game. I also visited Lackland Air Force Base where I met lots of Military Working Dogs who do some really cool things. I saw them in training and learning tons of cool things to do their jobs.

I'm really excited about being able to attend the Blog Paws Social Media conference in Salt Lake City, UT from June 20th - 24th. More on that later! But in the meantime, I'm just hanging out at home with my dad Ron and family. All I have planned for today is to do what I like best: SKATE!
